Who we are
Swallowtail was born from first-hand experience in transforming land to deliver nature-based solutions and open new market opportunities. After embarking on their own journey to restore nature at scale, founders Glenn and Alex created Swallowtail to share their learnings and leverage their experience to support other land managers in undertaking similar projects. Today, we continue to be driven by the vision of a world in which nature is truly respected and valued for its crucial role in a sustainably functioning society.

Glenn Anderson
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Glenn is a 5th-generation farmer with over 20 years’ experience as a consultant working with international blue-chip organisations. He is passionate about the role that farming and land-use play in reversing biodiversity loss and climate change, both in the UK and globally. -
Alexander Begg
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Alex is a soft fruit farmer and was previously a finance partner at The National Trust. He has a deep understanding of Natural Capital Accounting, financial modelling and blended finance solutions to deliver the long-term financial stability to underpin successful nature recovery projects -
Mike Edwards
DIRECTOR
Mike is a nature recovery expert with over 20 years’ experience developing, delivering and managing natural capital projects in the agricultural and environmental sectors. Prior to Swallowtail, Mike set up Albanwise Environment Ltd and was Managing Director of Norfolk Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group. He brings deep expertise in nature markets and large-scale nature recovery projects. -
Daisy Irving-Hyman
NATURAL CAPITAL PROJECT MANAGER
Daisy is an experienced Project Manager with a background in management consulting, working across private equity transactions and strategic projects, with a strong focus on Consumer Goods. At Swallowtail, she combines this experience with a passion for sustainable land use and regenerative agriculture, to support successful project execution and delivery of Nature-based Solutions. -
Freddie Waite
NATURE FINANCE ADVISOR
Freddie is a nature finance expert, bringing deep financial modelling expertise to Swallowtail. Formerly an Investment Director at Better Society Capital, he has extensive experience in impact investing and specialises in identifying and modelling blended finance solutions for nature recovery projects, as well as in Natural Capital Accounting and the evaluation of the social and community co-benefits of nature recovery. -
Andy Duff
NATURE FINANCE ADVISOR
Andy is a nature finance expert, specialising in the design and development of blended finance strategies for nature recovery projects. Prior to joining Swallowtail, he brought his extensive experience in strategy development and innovation to bear in leading the development of the Barclays UK Sustainable Agriculture and Nature strategy - a first-of-its-kind collaboration on Biodiversity Net Gain with Environment Bank – as well as establishing a UK-wide Barclays Farm-to-Farm Network.
